A Gift of Warmth Wall
This winter, help us share a little warmth with those who need it most. Our Wall of Warmth, in collaboration with Christmas at the Quarter and Merton Faith in Action, invites visitors to donate coats, hats, scarves, gloves or socks to support local residents experiencing hardship.
Simply visit the Warmth Wall, located close to the ice rink, and leave a gift of warmth for someone in need this winter. Every item donated will help bring comfort and care to our community during the colder months.

How It Works
- Bring along a winter item from the list below. Either new or clean and pre-loved.
- Place your item on the Wall of Warmth or hat stand.
- Items are collected regularly and distributed to those in need through our local partner, Merton Faith in Action.
A QR code displayed onsite will link directly to the Faith in Action donation page, allowing visitors to contribute online if they prefer.
Donated items will be stored securely at Wimbledon Quarter until volunteers collect them for distribution.
Donation Items
- Boxer shorts and socks (most needed)
- Shoes or trainers in good condition
- Warm and waterproof coats
- Casual clothing in good condition
- Stretchy belts
- Items such as scarves, hats and gloves
In Collaboration with Merton Faith in Action
The Gift of Warmth Wall supports Merton Faith in Action, a local charity that brings together faith groups and community partners to help those experiencing homelessness.
Their Merton Homeless Drop-in is open every Wednesday and Friday and provides around 50–60 homeless and vulnerably housed people with hot drinks, breakfast, a two-course hot lunch, internet access, advice and support from professional staff members, showers, laundry facilities, donated clothing and food parcels.
The Faith In Action Merton Winter Night Shelter also provides emergency accommodation for 12-14 people experiencing homelessness between December and mid-March. Teams of faith group volunteers, around 360 in total, provide a vital service for people across a dozen hosting venues in the borough.
Your simple act of kindness – a pair of gloves, a warm hat, a soft scarf – can help someone stay warm and feel cared for this winter.
