Skates On, Wimbledon – Our Ice Rink Returns!

Cold air. Warm lights. That first wobbly push away from the barrier and then, you’re skating. For the forth year, the ice rink returns to Wimbledon Quarter: a real-ice rink set within Wimbledon’s twinkly winter wonderland.
Come and glide. Come and wobble. Come and clutch your best friend’s sleeve and shriek. Then thaw out with a hot chocolate from one of our wonderful cafe’s around the rink or book in to have a meet and greet at our Santa’s Grotto.
Because we’re indoors, the weather can do its worst. And because we’re right here in SW19, you’ll be home in time for tea. It’s the bit of Christmas you’ll still be talking about long after the tree has come down.

- Off Peak:
Monday – Wednesday, all day
Thursdays & Fridays, 12pm to 4pm
Until Monday 21st December 2025 - Quiet & Calm Sessions:
Wednesdays at 12pm. Smaller groups, music turned right down, designed for skaters with additional sensory needs. - Extended Sessions:
Thursdays, 12pm to 1:45pm.
Purchase one standard off peak ticket, double the time on the ice.
Drop in and out as you like; the session ends at 1:45pm.

Before You Skate:
- Arrive 25 – 30 minutes before your session to fit your skates.
- Wear gloves, hat and warm socks. It does get cold.
- Skate aids for little ones (under 1.2m) are £5.50. Book them with your tickets.
- Sessions are 45 minutes on the ice.
Make A Day Of It:
Forty five minutes on the ice is a festive and fun afternoon – but why not enjoy a proper day out at Wimbledon Quarter!
- Santa’s Grotto is booking up now and it’s about thirty seconds from the rink. Don’t miss out.
- Enjoy lunch at one of our cafes or 601 Queen’s Road for something with a little more festive cheer.
- When the little ones have finally run out of steam, the Christmas shopping is all under one roof, warm and dry.
FAQs
Each ice skating session lasts for 45 minutes. Please arrive 25-30 mins before your booking, to ensure adequate time for getting ready.
Yes, skates are included in the ticket price.
Each session accommodates a maximum of 84 people on the ice at once.
The minimum age for skating is strictly 3 years old. We suggest parents use their judgment to decide if their child (older than 3) can safely enjoy the ice.
Skate aids are available to book in advance for £5 each when purchasing your tickets. Skating aids are only to be used by children under 1.2m height. Adults cannot push skating aids unless at the sole discression of the rink team; only children are able to push skating aids.
Lockers are available to store your belongings. Please ensure your belongings are stored prior to getting your skates on.
Unfortunately Ice Skating at Wimbledon Quarter is not a wheelchair accessible activity. Despite considerable attempts to make this happen, certain factors beyond our control, including insurance limitations, meant we were unable to make it possible for this season.
The rink is approximately 20m x 14m.
We operate the following festive hours:
Christmas Eve: Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: Normal operating hours
New Year’s Eve: Last skate session at 7pm
New Year’s Day: Last skate session at 7pm
Skates are available from Child Size 7.5 (EU 25) up to an Adult Size 13 (EU 48).
Bob skates are also available for smaller skaters from Child Size 6. Bob skates are double blades that strap onto the shoe and are subject to availability.
You are welcome to bring your own figure skates and hockey skates. However the organisers reserve the right to refuse a person to use their own skates if they decide that they are not suitable. There is no discount to the ticket price for use of your own skates.
Whilst we operate inside, our rink is made from real-ice and therefore it does get cold. We recommend wearing suitable waterproof clothing. It’s quite normal for there to be a degree of surface water on any outdoor ice rink. For this reason, visitors should be aware that they may get wet even if it isn’t raining.
