Taste of The Rooftop Farm


In collaboration with GROW URBAN FESTIVAL, join us at The Rooftop Farm, Wimbledon and spend the evening sampling a selection of light bites created by local chefs, using produce grown at Wimbledon Quarter’s small farm.

The event will begin with a short tour of our mushroom tents – where we grow Oyster mushrooms from used coffee grounds – and the rooftop farm, where Will, our urban farmer, will explain what we are growing this season and our future plans for the site.

This will be followed by the tasting session. We will begin with a cocktail (or mocktail) made with garden gin from Wimbledon Brewery and our honey. Barnaby Shaw, our beekeeper, will give a short talk on how the honey is produced.

Laura from LuLa’s Patties will then provide a delicious roasted garlic, oyster mushroom & squash patty for you to try, before chef Vanessa Marx from The Riverhouse Bingham, Richmond whips up grilled oyster mushrooms on rosemary skewers with dip and creamy mushroom crostini.

The event will be rounded off with a slice of sweet honey cake prepared by our on-site cafe Lupo Bros for you to enjoy.

All guests will receive a tote bag from The Rooftop Farm and a jar of honey (which retails at £11). Mushroom Grow Kits will also be available to purchase on the day.

On the day of the event, please arrive at 5:45pm and wait in the Courtyard of Wimbledon Quarter. Will, our Urban Farmer, will meet you there before escorting you to the farm.

Please note that the farm is located on the roof of Wimbledon Quarter and access is via a metal staircase.Therefore, with much regret, the event won’t be suitable for all.
