Wimbledon Quarter Launches Changing Places Facility

As part of the extensive redevelopment works undertaken at Wimbledon Quarter in 2023, we are delighted to announce the opening of our new Changing Places facility.

Located on the ground floor close to the recently unveiled Courtyard and events space, the Changing Places room provides a custom toilet, with space for wheelchair transfers and carer assistance that includes a hoist.

In addition, there are showering facilities with a seat, basin, grab rails, an adjustable changing bench and non-slip flooring.

Martin Barnett, Director of Operations and Sustainability said: “As a neighbourhood hub, it is incredibly important to us that we provide facilities for all members of the public, including our vulnerable customers and those requiring additional assistance.  We’ve worked closely with the Changing Places team and hope that our facility makes a positive difference to people’s lives.”

Councillor Stringer said: “We are committed to expanding the provision of fully accessible Changing Places toilets in Merton wherever possible, and the renovation of a former shopping centre into a neighbourhood hub was the perfect opportunity. I’m delighted that Wimbledon Quarter worked with us at the council and disability groups to deliver this much-needed facility.”

The Changing Places facility is open and available to be used. Please look out for the Changing Places symbol on the signage throughout the Quarter.

Access is via a RADAR key which can be provided by the Wimbledon Quarter team if required.
